We are pleased to announce that the Third-Party Pickup Dispatch feature is now available via our Public Booking API. Developers can now include third-party pickup instructions directly in their Booking Requests — enabling even greater automation for managing international shipments.
What is Third-Party Pickup Dispatch?
The Third-Party Pickup Dispatch option is designed for shipments originating outside your customer’s country. It helps coordinate the pickup process when the sender is not the customer themselves.
Here’s how it works when using the feature through the Exfresso UI:
1. When booking a shipment that begins in a country different from the customer’s location, users can select the “Third-Party Pickup Dispatch” option.
2. They’re then prompted to enter the email address of the third party responsible for preparing the shipment.

3. Once the booking is complete, that email address receives a daily email reminder with a link to confirm the shipment details.
4. The email directs the third party to a confirmation screen, where they can review and confirm all necessary shipment information, ensuring a smooth handoff and timely dispatch.

While this feature has long been available within the Exfresso UI, we’re thrilled to now offer it for users leveraging integrated API workflows.
How to Use It in the API
To enable this feature via the API, simply include the pickup_confirmation_email field in your Booking Request. Here’s what that looks like:
